Oregon’s Great Orchestra…

The cover of our 2009-10 season brochure features some of the splendid musicians who make up the Oregon Symphony. They and their colleagues, together with our management team, work hard to bring you some of the finest concerts and artists you’ll hear anywhere.

The brilliant scholar Daniel Levitin, author of This Is Your Brain on Music, calls music a human obsession and one that brings us great joy, inspiration and comfort.

These are difficult times for many people, and so we’ve tried to make it easier to purchase our concerts series at a savings by increasing seating in the lower price ranges and adding a Sampler Series to the Salem offerings. At the same time we know that many people are traveling less these days, so we hope you will take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy great performances and internationally acclaimed artists in many musical genres without leaving home.

We hope you’ll join us as often as you can during the 2009/10 season. Music can provide a wonderfully restorative escape from the challenges of daily life—so come away with us, right here in Salem!
