The Final Note

More Than $2.7 Million Raised For Match!

Dear Symphony Friends,

The Miller Match works! In year two of the campaign, more than 3,000 donors increased their contributions over the 2003-2004 season, totaling more than $2.7 million in new or increased gifts. Thank you.

We are now in the final year of our campaign. This season, every increase of two dollars will be matched by one dollar, up to $1.5 million in matching funds.  Thus, we must raise $3 million in new or increased gifts based on the 2003-2004 season.

We know that the capacity exists in the community to achieve our goal. But the challenge is to inspire an ever-widening circle of new donors to participate in the Miller Match. We need you!

You know now that the price of a ticket covers only 41% of our costs. That is why I am asking you to help us make up the remaining 59% by participating in the Miller Match.

Our dream for the Oregon Symphony is to touch the heart and soul of every Oregonian. We are well on our way to achieving that goal. Last season we presented more than 110 concerts in the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and another 350 education and community engagement activities across the state. We annually attract more than 320,000 people to our concerts and serve another 70,000 children and adults through our extensive education and community programs. And, through our expanding regional radio partnerships, tens of thousands of rural Oregonians are hearing our concerts every month.

Your gift today will help preserve Oregon’s great cultural resource for tomorrow. Please help us meet the challenge by sending the most generous contribution possible. These are exciting times for the Oregon Symphony and it is an honor to be a part of it!

If you would like more information or prefer to make your gift by phone, please call Gene Gregory at 503-416-6318 or visit www.orsymphony.org.

Sincerely,

Jerry Hulsman
Interim President
